Investigation of septicemia patients using automated blood culture systems compared to manual conventional blood cultures

Abstract

To begin, when it comes to determining what causes infections in the bloodstream, blood cultures are the way to go. In order to provide an appropriate antibiotic treatment, it is crucial to identify the causal organism and its antibiotic susceptibility. In comparison to the traditional method, automated blood culture systems provide for more precise results in less time, making them ideal for enhanced monitoring of blood cultures. Procedures and materials: Patients hospitalized to the Chalmeda Anand Rao Institute of Medical Sciences made up the study population in this particular investigation. The study included 110 inpatients with respiratory infections who were admitted to 12 different wards over the course of a year and whose attending doctors used the BACTEC approach to obtain a blood culture.
