Abstract
There is growing cause for alarm due to the fact that Candida species cause a wide variety of clinical illnesses, from superficial skin infections to more severe invasive diseases that may spread throughout the body and even cause death. The last ten years have seen a rise in fungal infections resistant to antifungal drugs. Therefore, testing for antifungal susceptibility and species-level Candida identification are of utmost importance in the treatment of Candida infections. The study's objectives were to classify Candida species according to their characteristics and to identify the antifungal susceptibility pattern of these species.
